I think I saw a long-eared on my way home tonight. It was hunting along a ditch next to the flood bank near the Humber, just off Reeds Island. It was too big for a Marsh Harrier and too dark for a Barn Owl ( I'm an enthusiastic novice).

Your pictures are stunning, Roy. I've looked through all of them. I've been to quite a few of the places you mention but I struggle to even catch a glimpse of half the wildlife let alone manage to photograph it.

That was s lucky find and first for me. I have added you to my Hello list if you don't mind. I have posted a couple of shots I took of that juvenile Bittern which was on that foot path at Far Ings. That was a lucky find also, I do a lot of research most of the time but sometimes its a matter of being in the right place at the right time..Graham Catley is a wizard but he's been at this game for a long time. I got serious in wildlife photography only about 4 years ago that Bittern was one of my early attepts at digiscoping. I have since moved on the digital SLR.

That owl you saw could have been a Short-eared Owl..but same as you I am only novice..not a switcher.

Have you checked the Aircraft link.

Roy.
